FINAL PRESENTATION OF THE RESULTS OF THE PROJECT

„KALEIDOSKOP- IMPROVEMENT OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS IN DIFFERENT FAMILIES FOR TOLERANT SOCIETY“

27th of April, 2017., Thursday at 11 am, Žerjavićeva 10/1.

Goals of Kaleidoskop project were to secure the practice of human rights of single-parent, adoptive and LGBT families, increase the access to the rights of different families and increase the awareness of citizens, but also of single-parent, adoptive and LGBT families, of their rights and needs of children in different families.

During the project, which lasted 18 months for non-governmental organizations and institutions from all over Croatia, trainings were held by the title „All families are equal in their differences- how to keep and advocate rights of children and parents in different families“. With the aim of strengthening advocacy capacities of non-governmental organizations, workshops of Advocacy for public policy were held by Center for Peace Studies in which were, with Adopta, Let, Roda and Zagreb Pride, the representatives of newly established association Dugine obitelji participating. Guidebooks My single-parent family, My adoptive family and My LGBT family were made to strengthen parents to talk with their children about the way their family was made, why is their family special and how it is similar with other families. Furthermore virtual law section offers legal information and contents for parents of single-parent, adoptive and LGBT families.

In cooperation with association Forum for Freedom in Education extensive analysis of legal and public institution framework and teaching materials for first four grades of primary school was made by the title „View toward different families- single-parent, adoptive and LGBT families through analysis of legislations, primary school textbooks and forms“.

Picture book Naše obitelji and the animated movie of the same name were made in cooperation with the company Igubuka d.o.o., and their goal is to carry the message of tolerance about different kinds of families which are all equal in one thing- they are the most valuable places to grow up at.

All materials made in the framework of project will be available at conference.
