This video lesson refers to the essential components of the communication process with a child, distinguish the elements that lead to blockage in communication. Knowing this, both professionals and parents can have more efficient communication with the child.

Communication means more than a message and an answer. Thoughts and beliefs, emotions and feelings, needs and wishes are expressed through words, through verbal and para-verbal message. Perceiving only one language, by ignoring the others, increases the risk of misunderstanding the speaker's message.

This lesson is part of the Video-Course "Key Aspects of Child Protection" produced by Terre des hommes Moldova. The course is made of 10 video-lessons (7 available in English) for specialists working in child protection or are in contact with children in their work, but also for the general public, regarding key aspects of child protection, particularly focusing on the protection of children in contact with the justice system.
