The webinar is intended for:
This webinar is suitable for social workers, anthropologists, critical social scientists, lawyers, humanitarian practitioners, and all who see our social connections as a complicated and evading characteristic of our shared lives.
What is the focus and essence of social work?
One viewpoint considers the professionalism of social workers as a matter of professional identity. Another point of view – critical social work – puts the focus on criticism of existing social relations. Our discussion will focus on both.
The lecturer:
Rumen Petrov has a complex professional identity; he began as a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, and in meeting with the psychiatric care community, arrived to an understanding of the power and importance of institutions, policies, and the written and unwritten rules that influence the quality of our co-existence. In short, he arrived to an understanding of social work.
The webinar will be held on 20 May 2019, from 16:00 to 17:00 EET.
