A café owner in Stonehouse came up with a brilliant idea to help children, who lack necessary devices, access remote virtual learning.

Mr. Harman is a former teacher and now works as a school governor. Jack Harman was inspired by his friend’s post on social media who did not have gadgets for her children. He helped her by giving his spare laptop and then asked other people on the café’s social media pages to collect spare laptops. Now that a small quick scheme is built, he is very happy to see the community being willing to help.

Even if someone lives far, he can just contact local schools to donate the gadget. He told BBC “I think ultimately people want to help and they have seen doctors, nurses, teachers and key workers do phenomenal things during this crisis and they are thinking 'what can I do?'."
