As an attractive method to motivate and encourage children to learn more about their rights when in contact with the police, Terre des hommes Moldova, in partnership with the General Police Inspectorate of the Republic of Moldova, organized an online competition for children "So what now...?".

From April 22 to May 22, 2015, all children aged between 10 and 17 are invited to participate in the competion.

To enter the competition, children must access the webpage http://tdh-moldova.md/concurs (available in Romanian and Russian) and complete a questionnaire of 18 test questions and 3 informative questions. The questions are based on the information from the  “Justice for Children” film, “So what now ...?” leaflets and the “Know your rights together with us” poster,  which all can be found on the Tdh Moldova website  www.tdh-moldova.md.

The online quiz comes as an activity of the awareness raising campaign for children “Learn your rights together with us”, which aims to inform children and their parents/care-givers about children’s rights and the procedures that they might go through during the early contact with the justice system. Before the start of the competition and during it, policemen distribute nationally the materials produced for the campaign and carry out information classes with children in all schools of the country. The classes are based on the "Justice for Children" film.

In this competition, children can win 10 tablets and 100 backpacks. The prizes will be offered by draw among the participants with the highest score obtained in the online quiz. The score is evaluated in two age categories: 10-13 and 14-17 years. The first phase of the draw is digital. Through the website www.random.org there will be designated 100 children (50 for each age category) that will receive a backpack each and advance to the next phase.

The competition will culminate with an event held in Chisinau during the International Children's Day on June 1, 2015, with the participation of those 100 children – winners of the first stare. Here, the big prizes of 10 tablets will be put at stake, which will be handed to the winners by a manually performed draw (5 tablets  for each age category).

Here you can read (in Romanian) about the results of the competition.

The information campaign for children “Learn your rights together with us” is part of the project “Strengthening the Capacity of Law Enforcement, Inter-Agency Coordination and Civil Society Organizations to Address Discrimination and Ill-Treatment of Children within the Justice System in the Republic of Moldova”, funded by the European Union.
