In January 2018, Paul Bercea has started his new function as the Europe Regional Child Protection Advisor. Paul works 80% of time, from Romania and will focus his efforts on improving child protection capcity building efforts of Tdh. Africa will be the next region to recruit a new Regional Child Protection Advisor.

Tdh is delighted to have Paul join both its Europe and Child Protection teams. He has over 16 years of experience in Child Protection and safeguarding vulnerable children and young people both in Romania (his home country) and the UK (adoptive country) working for statutory agencies (Lincolnshire Children’s Services) and children’s charities (NSPCC, Barnardo’s).  Paul graduated with a Social Work Degree (BA Hons) awarded by Babes Bolyai University, Romania in 2001, Chartered Management Institute Level 5 (Management, Leadership and Performance Management) awarded Northampton College and CMI in 2011 and is a  VERP (Video Enhanced Reflective Practice) Practitioner.  Paul will continue provide consultancy and training services to Barnardo's therefore it is of crucial importance that all requests for support are planned as much in advance as possible and that last-minute requests be minimized as much as possible. ***Paul will report to Sendrine Constant, Head of Child Protection Sector as direct line manager and to the Head of EE Region as functional supervisor. He will work from Cluj Napoca for 80% of his time, with frequent travel throughout the region.***
