To enrol and take courses in the Childhub Academy you need to be logged in to Childhub.

This course is developed to respond to the growing need to provide students with the knowledge, skills and understanding to identify and respond to the mental health challenges and negative thoughts in not only themselves but others as well. This course is for the university students and those working in the tertiary education and local community sectors.

The syllabus of this course is as follows: 

Module 1: Mental fitness

  • Understanding what is mental health 
  • Identifying and understanding the factors that lead to suicide and poor mental health 
  • Understanding the impact of stress on mental health 
  • Understanding your own mental fitness

Module 2: Cognitive-behavioural strategies to increase mental fitness

  • Explaining why mental health is important
  • Identifying and explaining factors that contribute to negative thinking
  • How to apply the ABC model

This course is for 2 weeks and will roughly take 1-3 hours per week.
