The online training is designed to increase knowledge and change competency of public health, medical, and mental health professionals related to preventing adverse childhood experiences. Content is derived from current research, practise, and input from subject matter experts.

Objectives:

  • Define adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)
  • Identify connections between ACEs and toxic stress
  • Identify outcomes associated with ACEs
  • Identify risks and protective factors for ACEs across the social-ecological model
  • Identify strategies to prevent child abuse and neglect and other early adversities through policy, norm, and programmatic activities
