Seven INSPIRE strategies for ending violence against children is a compilation of effective, evidence-based interventions to support countries in ending violence against children. Measures recommended have proven to be effective in different countries around the world and can easily be tailored to the local context and local needs. The INSPIRE Handbook describes seven strategies and good practices from countries all over the world that have proven to be effective in reducing violence against children.

The seven strategies are:

1) Implementation and enforcement of laws

2) Norms and values

3) Safe environments

4) Parent and caregiver support

5) Income and economic strengthening

6) Response and support services, and

7) Education and life skills - Quality education helps children acquire knowledge, skills and experiences that build resilience and reduce risk factors for violence. When education systems, schools, parents and communities commit to providing safe and engaging learning environments, children are better able to succeed academically, grow socially, and avoid experiencing or perpetrating violence. Education system should provide children the knowledge, but a life-skills training, preparing them for challenges they will encounter in the future. Yelon is a sexual education program enabling children to learn about topics they are interested in, but which are still a taboo: sex, sexuality, their bodies, changes they experience, sexual abuse. There is also a page for parents and teachers, providing them resources on how to talk about topics related to sex with children and build healthy relationship! The document below provides you the key information on Yelon and how it works. If you are interested to learn more, listen to a webinar with the Yelon Program Manager here.
