Together with partner organizations, Missing Europe Children have developed the Mobile Application `Miniila`, specifically designed for unaccompanied children on the move.
The main purpose of the App is to inform children about their rights and to explain in a child-friendly manner procedures such as asylum and family reunification as well as to present a list of available supportive services (e.g., legal aid, shelter, food, health) according to children`s locations. Moreover, the App is available in different languages (English, French, Arabic, etc.) and all content is followed by audio guidance.
Miniila App is considered as a good practice by the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) as while developing the App, all the partners involved have taken a participatory approach. Focus groups with children and young people were conducted in all participating countries in order to tailor the digital tool corresponding to the information needs of unaccompanied children.
Growing number of countries are participating in this initiative, currently these are: Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Italy and UK.
Organizations across Europe are invited to offer and promote their services in the App. NGOs might opt for uploading certain information in a content management system and/or contact national focal points. More information can be found here.
