We are sharing this recording of the meeting that discussed the report "Deinstitutionalization and community life in Bulgaria" with its main author Nadia Deneva. The report focuses on the fact that the Bulgarian model of deinstitutionalization has dashed the hopes of children and adults with disabilities in Bulgaria. The document calls on the European Commission to stop funding the institutionalization of children and adults with disabilities and calls on the Bulgarian government and national authorities to review and rethink the structure of Bulgarian social policy to bring it into line with the European Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
