We are sharing this material by the Bulgarian National Television (BNT), which tells the story of Sylvia and her work with marginalized communities in Bulgaria. The video is in Bulgarian.

Sylvia emphasizes the importance of supporting children from an early age (0 to 5 years), as this is the period in which children acquire learning skills. Otherwise, the children grow up and become another person in need of social welfare. She mentions that her approach is influenced in part by the work of economist James Heckman, whose research noted that in case of a developed deficit in a country, there is a requirement for a serious investment in the development of children from underprivileged communities. For this reason, Sylvia has devoted herself to the support of children and mothers from the vulnerable part of the Bulgarian population.

You can learn more about Sylvia's work in the BNT video material here.
