Since 2015, the Western Balkans Route has been one of the most used routes for refugees and migrants from Middle East and Northern African countries trying to reach safety in Europe.

For the past five years, Save the Children, together with a local partner, Centre for Youth Integration, runs child friendly spaces to support refugee and migrant children arriving in Serbia. In our child friendly spaces children can find a safe space, they can play, learn and be what they really are – children.

Our teams learned and grew with each child who visited our corner. These are some of the stories that changed their lives.
