  • Romano Vodi’s website reports the assault of a 12-year-old Roma girl known in Italy for having been awarded ‘the 2008 UNICEF-*caff??¨ Shakerato prize’ for her artistic gifts applied to intercultural topics. Accompanied with her little brother, they were **pushed around and then *beaten in the streets of Milan, Italy last week. As they asked to passers-by for help, no one reacted. Before this physical attack UNICEF had expressed its indignation over the young girl’s situation, since her prize is the symbol of childhood deprived of its rights.
