On March 12, honoured by the presence of the representatives of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and Mrs. Guusje Korthals Altes – Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania, as well as representatives of civil society organizations, the national study ‘Measures for the protection of children in conflict with the law, under the age of criminal responsibility’ was launched.

The study was conducted and published in the framework of the ‘Strengthening the Protection System for Children in Conflict with the Law’ project, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, under the MATRA 2017–2021 program implemented by Terre des hommes Albania, in partnership with Defence for Children International – Netherlands.

The findings and recommendations of this study emphasize the need to increase inter-institutional cooperation to address the needs of children in conflict with the law, improve existing social services, design dedicated programs for the reintegration and empowerment of children in conflict with the law, and enhance the pro-activeness of justice and child protection systems by ensuring better protection of children in conflict with the law.
