All children at risk of sex abuse online, warns report

It is reported by The Telegraph that, due to the activities on the internet, children from good homes are at the same risk of sexual abuse as children who are from less fortunate homes. A study done by Barnardo’s and the Marie Collins Foundation said that it found that children as young as eight being targeted by paedophiles online.

Many people from the charity’s staff have reported that children considered it the “norm” when sending nude photographs and using sexual language when talking to strangers online.

The website apps that were most commonly identified as being linked to the sexual exploitation were Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, BBM, WhatsApp and Skype.  Grindr, Flirtfinder and Kik were also mentioned.
