Anti-trafficking day: the Commission calls for better protection of the victims

19 Oct 2010

On the anti-trafficking day the EU Commission published a press release pointing out that only few residence permits are issued to victims of trafficking in EU Member States. The Commission stresses the importance of the protection of trafficking victims for several reasons, including the prevention of further trafficking. It will also examine all cases where the Anti-Trafficking Directive is not applied and will consider amendments to it to increase the effectiveness of the combat against the phenomenon.
