[Bulgaria] Training “Working With Migrant Children”

IOM Bulgaria organized a training on “Working with migrant children” on the 7th and 8th of December 2017 at the Cultural Center in Harmanli, as part of the project “Protecting children in the context of the European migrant and refugee crisis”.

Over 40 participants from the SAR, State Agency for Child Protection, municipalities, Directorates for Social Assistance, MoI Migration Directorate, NGOs and IOM participated in the training, as well as IOM experts from the Regional Office in Brussels and Italy. Within the framework of the training, the child protection systems in Bulgaria and Italy were compared while challenges and best practices with regards to the application of child protection procedures during field work were presented. #IOMBulgaria’s mobile teams presented their work and examples of inter-agency cooperation were presented and discussed.

The official opening of the Global Migration Film Festival in Harmanli took place at the end of the first day of the training, with the film “2 Girls”.
