Can a rape be justified? An alarming number of Europeans think "yes"

"A recent study in the European Union member states shows that the number of people who think rape can be justified is high in alarming numbers." The article written by Jennifer Morris in was brought by to raise the issue of data surprising on the large number of European citizens who feel sexual violence can be justified.

The study involved the administration of 30,000 questionnaires in different countries of Europe who were asked if they thought that sex without consent would be acceptable in certain circumstances. Strangely more than a quarter of the respondents said they thought that was justified.

While we like to think that these behaviors are limited to a small group of people ignorant, recent studies show that they are spread so shockingly. These results indicate that much work remains to be done for people to understand this.
