‘Belfast Telegraph’ reports on a new review program launched in the UK to investigate reasons why children in care end up in custody. Children in care are more likely to get involved into troubles with law than children which are not in care, and more than one third of the youth in custody have been in care. In order to understand what makes these young people to continue this life path, there will be formed a review team which will work with a consultation group consisting of the youth who were in care and afterwards had troubles with criminal justice system. The program aims at giving practical recommendations how to stop this vicious circle and make sure that children are heard.
