The increased influx of refugees and migrants Europe has been witnessing in the past few years made the issues linked to integration key topics of the debates in Europe, while providing insufficient tools for integration policymakers to come up with innovative solutions and proposals. The current focus when it comes to integration is to put migrants and refugees to work, fighting at the same time criticisms questioning many integration related measures. Migration Policy Institute produced a toolkit trying to provide framework for integration policymakers to “do more with less”, explaining how different tools and policy approaches tested in other fields can be used to develop effective and efficient integration measures.

According to the authors of the toolkit “a new approach to integration policy is not about new tools alone; it also requires a more collaborative approach to problem-solving, drawing on relationships with the private sector and civil partners, as well as the whole of government.” And the integration policymakers will have a key role in this process.

You can find the toolkit here.
