Finland’s National Institute for Health and Welfare, in partnership with five of the country's university hospitals, as well the Finnish Association for Mental Health, and with the support of the European Commission's Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), is launching a new nation-wide project to promote mental health among refugees. The project aims to create a Center of Expertise to train hospital and mental healthcare workers in promoting and providing mental healthcare services among residents with asylum seeker backgrounds. Work on the centre has already begun as part of the PALOMA project, and is scheduled to run beyond June 2021.
