Human Rights Efforts 'Insufficient'

  • ANSA’ reports that during Italy’s celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights President Giorgio Napolitano said efforts to prevent violations of human rights were insufficient so far. He said he hoped celebrations in Italy would contribute to familiarising young people with the contents of the declaration. Italian president of UNICEF urged the defense of children’s rights to be put “in first place” on government agendas in light of the G8 summit to be held in Italy next year.
