The Committee on the Rights of the Child has expressed concern about the situation of children worldwide, and especially children at risk, due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic leaves many children with strong physical, emotional and psychological effects, especially in states that have declared a state of emergency and imposed movement bans.

In addition to the announcement by ten human rights watchdogs, the Committee also urges States to respect the rights of the child when taking action to combat the public health threat posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The full announcement and recomendations can be found here.
