National Children's Bureau states that lockdown and remote learning have affected the end of term as well at schools. The article gives advices to teachers how to cope with this unusual situation and how to support positive transitions to the next stage of students’ education.

Many children are struggling in this period of time, so it is extremely important to create a space with all of the students where they can speak to an adult they trust before the end of the school year.

This check-in consists of 3 important parts:

  1. Recognising the lockdown experience of the young person – concerning school and emotions as well.
  2. Addressing any current concerns – problems to be solved, daily routine, friendships, family ties.
  3. Planning for the future – hopes for the summer, plans for the next school year.
