Schools in Kosovo have been closed due to the situation created as a result of the COVID - 19 pandemic.

The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MEST) has been filming educational materials for a week now, which will start airing today on public television channels.

Minister Hykmete Bajrami gave details of the distance learning process at a press conference.

'Online learning will start broadcasting on 23.03.2020, Monday, 11:15 am, first with 1st grade, two teaching units (mother tongue and math), then continues with 2nd grade, two teaching units, then with Class III, and so on for other classes' - she said.

According to the minister, the process is not perfect, but is a good step towards digitalizing the learning process even after the situation is normalized.

Citizens have also received notifications for online learning through telephone messages.
