BBC reports that a deal between the EU and Turkey, which will see migrants who have had their asylum application rejected sent back to Turkey, has now come into effect. The deal is aimed at closing off the migration path by sea, from Turkey to Greece. For every migrant sent back to Turkey, one refugee will be resettled in the EU. In return for taking back refugees, Turkey will receive additional funds to help it cope with the refugees already within its borders and other concessions.
