Between the 16th and 19th of June 2017, Terre des hommes Moldova organized the second edition of the "Adolescent Leaders for Gender Equality" Summer Camp. 30 pupils of the 7th and 8th grade from 17 educational institutions from Ungheni, Falesti and Soroca districts participated in the camp.
The programme of the the "Adolescent Leaders for Gender Equality" Summer Camp included various fun activities and challenging workshops on topics such as stereotypes, violence prevention, peer-to-peer education, gender equality, leadership, and others. When the new school year starts, the participants will organize in their community peer-to-peer activities in the field of gender equality and violence prevention.
"The participation in this summer camp opened new horizons for me, changed some of my views and contributed to my personal development. I enjoyed all the sessions, the games and of course the way the trainers carried out the activities and communicated with us - the participants. I made new friends and I'm taking home many beautiful memories and useful knowledge. I'm looking forward to apply my abilities and knowledge as a trainer with my colleagues in school", a participant mentioned.
More photos from the summer camp are available on Terre des hommes Moldova's Facebook page.
The summer camp is part of the project "For a violence free life for children in Moldova", implemented by Terre des hommes Moldova, with the financial support of the OAK Foundation. By means of this project, Tdh aims to prevent child abuse, focusing on the involvement of men and boys in this process, and to change gender issues / stereotypes that can lead to abuse.
