Moldovan swimmer, and candidate for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize, Ion Lazarenco Tiron will swim 30 kilometres on the Dniester River to raise awareness of the importance of respecting children's rights.

The action is organized by UNICEF Moldova and will take place on 25 July.

Ion Lazarenco has been declared the 'Best Swimmer of Ireland' three years in a row, becoming the first person in the world to cross seven straits in his first attempt: the English Channel, the Gibraltar Strait, the North Channel, the Catalina Canal, the Molokai Canal, the Tsugaru Canal, and the Cook Strait.

In 2018, he was named 'Man of the Year' by the World Open Water Swimming Association.
