‘The Irish Post’ reports that adoption rights organizations are arguing that the new Irish Minister for Justice must work to help victims of forced adoption. The Adoption Rights Alliance co-founder Susan Lohan said that the organization expects the new minister Frances Fitzgerald to introduce laws that would help reunite families who were separated by forced and illegal adoption practices in Ireland. Current laws in Ireland prevent parents and children from accessing the information they need to find each other. Some have accused the government of taking too long to draft the legislation necessary to help victims of the forced adoption scandal.
