12 Sep 2016

RAPSI reports on the appointment of a new child rights Ombudsman for Russia, Anna Kuznetsova, who has called for the modernisation of legislation concerning the adoption of Russian children by foreigners. This focusses on the controversial 2012 Dima Yakovlev law which prohibits US nationals from adopting Russian children, and includes restrictions on sending children to countries which have legalized same-sex marriage.
