The Opening Doors for Europe’s Children campaign is a partnership between 5 international organisations and civil society across 16 European countries. The main pan-European campaign team is currently working to dispel myths that are associated with institutional care of children in Europe.
Network of Organizations for Children of Serbia contributes to this process by presenting some of the myths that exist in Serbia, and they relate to children who are placed in institutions:
If the institutions are closed, where the children will be?
Institutions are needed to take care about children without parental care.
The institutions have improved greatly in recent years, why to close them?
If institutions are closed, professionals who work there will have no job.
