The Council for Children of BiH, supported by the Ministry for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Save the Children, held a roundtable entitled "Public investment for Children and implementation of the Action Plan for Children BiH ". The round table was opened by Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Ms. Semiha Borovac and the audience was addressed by Mr.Martin Raguz on behalf of the Commission on Human Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The panel session 'Public budgeting for the realization of children's rights' was related to presentation of the General Comment No. 19 on public budgeting for the realization of children's rights and it was agreed recommendation for its further dissemination to all government levels and structures and to civil society, including children as well as to academia, media and other relevant parts.
The round table special attention attracted the presentation of young from the Children's Parliament Zenica who have presented the realization of its advocacy for children's rights in the local community, who have recently resulted in the adoption of the Local Action Plan for Children of the City of Zenica.
Also, children were distributed the Child Friendly version of the General Coment no.19 on public budgeting for the realization of children's rights (Children's Parliament Zenica is togheter with CSO Nasa Djeca Zenica actively involved in realization of 'Investment in Children' project).
On of the recommendations from the round table was an initiative to all levels of government for the swift introduction of program budgeting harmonized with the actual needs of all children in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
