As part of the regional initiative Child protection Hub for Southeast Europe, a local training for representatives of children's organizations was organized on Monday, October 12, in Belgrade.
The seminar was led by Professor Dr. Nevenka Zegarac, Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Belgrade, and the topic was: INSPIRE strategies for ending violence against children.
Professor Zegarac first introduced the participants to a general overview of all 7 strategies for ending violence against children, explained their origin and how they were initiated by World Health Organisation, main goal of INSPIRE strategies, but also methods of implementation.
The seven strategies are:
- Law Implementation and Enforcement;
- Norms and Values;
- Safe Environments;
- Parent and Caregiver Support;
- Income and Economic Strengthening;
- Response and Support Services;
- and Education and Life Skills.
Having in mind the profiles and professions of the participants, it was chosen to pay special attention to one of the 7 strategies, namely Parent and Caregiver Support and the connection of this strategy with the others.
Also during the webinar, there was talk about programs that are created and implemented in different countries around the world and based on evidence, as well as a set of indicators designed to measure as effectively as possible the result they all have in trying to support countries' efforts to end violence against children.
