Council of Europe

The Council of Europe’s official website reports that a high-level conference opened in Stockholm addressing the issues of violence against children, child-friendly justice, child participation and other issues. The conference will also be the occasion of the launch of the Stockholm Strategy, which aims to strengthen work on children’s rights in Council of Europe member states in 2009-2011. The strategy has five proposed areas, including joint action to combat all types of violence against children and young people, more child participation and special action for children with disabilities or at risk, children belonging to minorities and refugees. ckColorInternet=F5CA75&BackColorIntranet=F5CA75&BackColorLogged=A9BACE
