‘Guardian’ reports that there is an educational gap between children brought up in families and children in care. According to Sonia Jackson, professor of social care 65% of children get five good certificates of secondary education while only 14% of children in care do. Only one in 10 of these children remain in education or training after their 18th birthday. The article explores some of the reasons for this gap.
