Tougher penalties sought for child traffickers

‘Children and Young People Now’ reports that the government is to review legislation to make sure that criminals who traffic children into the UK are given tougher sentences. The government’s new “Human Trafficking Strategy”: sets out plans to target the countries that are a major source of trafficking into the UK to prevent vulnerable people from becoming victims of trafficking. Meanwhile, the strategy commits to strengthening support for victims of trafficking.
