According to ABC news, Turkey has complained to officials in Austria and Sweden concerning media reports in the EU states concerning a Turkish Constitutional Court ruling on child abuse which they say has been misrepresented. The reports claimed that Turkey had enforced legislation making sex with minors under 15 legal, which were displayed in public spaces including a large screen at Vienna airport. Turkish ministers claimed this was an act of islamophobia and racism, against Turkey’s bids for a fair deal with the EU. They defended their child abuse legislation, and outlined new laws to strengthen the system.
