UN refugee summit falls short for children

IPS news reports on the UN refugee summit in New York last week, and its failure to address the needs of refugee children, who make up half of the world’s 65.3 million displaced people, fleeing conflict and persecution. The report highlights the continued detention of children on the move, the disputes between states in accepting quotas of asylum seekers, and existing foreign policies which treat children on the move as adults or criminals.
