The UN News Center has reported on UNICEF's calls for stronger action towards protecting unaccompanied children applying for asylum in Europe. According to the agency, 96,500 Unaccompanied minors applied for asylum in Europe in 2015, 9 out of ten of those minors are currently missing or unaccounted for. UNICEF is calling for stronger measures to protect these children, as they are at risk of trafficking, abuse and exploitation.
