Research in Practice and Professor Gail Kinman and Dr. Louise Grant (University of Bedfordshire) have published their latest work “The SWORD Change Project”. This project aims to provide social work leaders and supervisors with an accessible, research-informed diagnostic tool and an associated workbook to understand, develop and endure resilience in their workplace. The online diagnostic tool and workbook were co-produced with groups of social workers, line managers, and leaders.
The SWORD project consists of two elements the SWORD workbook and an online diagnostic survey on organizational health, which is expected to launch in spring 2020. The online book includes a wide variety of evidence-informed approaches, tasks, and strategies to build and enhance resilience in the workplace. The online diagnostic survey will lead supervisors to understand their workforce health and well-being, while the SWORD workbook will serve as the tool to guide practice leaders in their mission to improve and develop their workforce.
