Bedfordshire News reports that the University of Bedfordshire College of Policing in partnership with the UK police will establish a centre of expertise to improve police response to child sexual exploitation. Dr Helen Beckett, joint director of the International Centre: Researching child sexual exploitation, violence and trafficking at the University, says that the centre will permit collaboration between academia and the police, allowing the police to begin implementing research-based methods to protect young people. The centre will be established using £500,000 awarded by the Police Knowledge Fund.
