'IBT News' reports that Nasira Lopez, a Syrian teacher living in Istanbul, set up a school for refugee children in Turkey to prevent their exploitation and avoid child labour. "I wanted every child to be able to go to school as they should, and set up the school – completely free for children," she explains. "I talked to my Syrian neighbours and told them about the importance of the education, and convinced most of them to send their children to the school." 195 Syrian children now attend the school, taught by Syrian and Turkish volunteers.
