This paper sheds light on arts-based knowledge translation (KT) methods as a tool to reveal lived experiences of illness and give voice to participants seldom heard. Such an approach is believed to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and enhance understanding of both health and social care. Although further systematic research assessing the short and long-term impact of arts-based methods is required, preliminary evaluations indicate that this is a promising approach for informing clinical practice, health policy and public understanding of important health issues.
