As part of the project From policy to reality – shifting attitudes and practices from corporal punishment to safegurading children in August 2017, research was conducted in Croatia, Latvia and Poland. Given that corporal punishment in the Republic of Croatia was prohibited by law since 1999, the purpose of this research was to examine attitudes towards the use of corporal punishment in families and educational institutions, attitudes towards the legal ban on corporal punishment, and the frequency of the use of corporal punishment and others parental education procedures. The research was conducted online and the results are based on a representative sample of 500 participants from all over the Republic of Croatia.
