te,     Cluj, Gherla, Iai, and Budai; a further 6 investigations were carried out in familystyle     placement centers in Bacu, Hârja, Sighet, Vieul de Sus, Roiorii de Vede     and Alexandria; the remaining investigations took place in institutions offering     services to prevent institutionalizations: 6 day care centers in Vipereti, Buzu, Baia     Mare, Bia, Panciu, and Focani and 6 maternal centers in Bucharest, Alexandria,     Iai, Baia Mare, and Buzu.     Each of these investigations involved the visiting and close observation of the     respective institution, an in-depth interview with the Manager of the institution, and     another with an employee whose work involves direct contact with the beneficiaries,     children or mothers.
