The case of Serbia in relation to internet education technologies

People knew and wrote a little about digital literacy until March when a microscopic creature came into life all over the world. The pandemic of Covid 19 caused a lot of changes in our everyday lives starting with the lockdown and going on with the online education and other uses of digital tools. Children, parents, and teachers were not easily adjusted with the new normality, because of lack of training or lack of objective possibilities.

Since the beginning, it was unclear to them which were their rights and obligations, concerning technology and privacy. With no doubt, now more than ever, the right to privacy in the digital environment is confirmed as officially being part of Human Rights.

In Serbia, although there are several international, regional, and domestic laws protecting the right to privacy with a special focus on children, many severe branches have happened. The author of the article, Kristina Cendic, explains the difficulties of the situation in Serbia and the measures that should be taken as soon as possible by the competent bodies.
