details

Date of publication:  01 Mar 2018 Publisher:  Tdh Netherlands Publication type:  Lessons learned

The first study investigated mica mining in only two states in India. Confronted with questions from key players in mica value chains and global players in various industries, Terre des Hommes commissioned a second study to respond to questions about the presence, magnitude, and risk of child labour and other human rights violations in the extraction of mica on a global scale.

The main objectives of this study are to map mica production globally, and to identify direct or indirect links to child labour or any other relevant children’s rights violations.

In this report you can find basic facts on mica and mica market, industries that use it, risk analysis, risk classification of mica-producing countries as well as key conclusions and recommendations.
