International Labour Organisation/International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour (ILO/IPEC). (2003). HIV/AIDS and child labour in the United Republic Tanzania: A rapid assessment A case study of Dar es Salaam and Arusha.

86 p. This rapid assessment suggests that HIV/AIDS is among the major causes of child labour in the United Republic of Tanzania and other developing countries. The study aims to assess the impact of HIV/AIDS on orphanhood and, in turn, the effects of growing numbers of orphans on child labour in the country. It also proposes intervention strategies aimed at dealing with both HIV/AIDS and child labour.
