This short course describes the public health approach to child maltreatment. It provides an overview of the scale of the problem, its consequences and costs, risk and protective factors for child maltreatment, and child maltreatment prevention strategies. The course is designed to be delivered over 3-4 days. It is designed for individuals actively engaged in prevention of child maltreatment, either in developing policies or implementing prevention programmes and is also relevant to those providing financial support for child maltreatment prevention programmes, as well as anyone working in child protection services, education, and social services.

The WHO page contains all the materials for delivering the course.
